Lake Views offers two charming self catering cottages perched high at the top and at either end of the northern hill overlooking Swartvlei Lake, South Africas largest natural inland salt water lake. Each cottage, situated on a 10ha and 12ha plot, enjoys unspoilt and breathtaking views of the Indian Ocean, the Wilderness Lakes, mountains, river, lagoon, forests and fynbos, accompanied by the most awe-inspiring sunsets. Hear the distinctive sound of the Fish Eagle cry as you watch them soar!

Our cottages offer a comfortable "home away from home" feel with fully equipped kitchens, good quality bedding and furniture, full DSTV/satellite television (170+channels and radio) with fire and braai wood supplied. This most wonderful magical setting offers peace, tranquillity and privacy enabling an idyllic getaway and soul rejuvenating breaks from the everyday stresses of life. Every room of the cottages face the awesome views and benefit from direct access to the spacious balconies/decking. With nearby access to beaches, rivers, lakes, the interconnecting N2 and all the facilities and wonders that the Garden Route has to offer, Lake Views is truly a unique experience.

Lake Views Cottage:
Spaced over two floors, this cosy cottage has an open plan kitchen, dining area and lounge with "Hot Art" fireplace. The decking offers ample seating with your choice of portable or brick-built braai. Enjoy the sunsets with sundowners as you braai in the comfort of your own secure 1300m² enclosed private garden with swings "in the view", surrounded by pine forests and fynbos. Upstairs are two bedrooms with a queen size bed and two ¾ extra length beds, leading to a spacious ¾ wrap-around deck. A separate full bathroom is equipped with shower cubicle and corner bath. In the grounds there is a splash pool with lapa, brick-built braai and a tree house (for intrepid little adventurers), overlooking the Outeniqua Mountains and valley behind.

Noahs Ark:
Spaced over one floor and also perched high above the lagoon, Noahs Ark offers the most amazing privacy, set in its own private forest location at the other end of the hill. It is a fully equipped Swiss style chalet offering every comfort with two queen size bedrooms both of equal size with en-suite shower rooms (single beds are available if required). There is a spacious lounge with open plan dining and fully fitted kitchen area. The balcony is equipped with portable braai and plentiful seating. The splash pool at Lake Views is available for guests of Noahs Ark.

How to find Lake Views? - From Knysna N2 take "Karatara/Ruigtevlei" on right before Sedgefield. Turn left for "Karatara" after 4.2km. Take left turn "George/Hoogekraal" after 2.6km. Follow this gravel road for 5kms (view Wilderness National Park to your right!!), turn left into "Wilderness Forest Estate". At 800m turn right into Forest Avenue West. Lake Views is second drive on the left.
From George N2 take Hoekwil turn on left after Wilderness Beach, follow for 21.2km, take "Ruigtevlei" turn off on right, after 4.6km turn right into "Wilderness Forest Estate".

Our prices are based on two people sharing, with additional supplements of R50-R150 per person thereafter, depending on which cottage and season. Babies under two stay free. Cost per dog is R75 per day (conditions apply).
