Wildebraam Berry Estate offers accommodation in comfortable cottges on the youngberry farm in the Hermitage Valley, Swellendam.

The aim at Wildebraam Berry Estate is topamper and large bath towels, down duvets, percale linen, fresh flowers, tea/coffee/milk on arrival, & a welcoming liqueur are some of the little extras provided to make your stay as special as possible. The cottages do not have TVs but a few books and games are provided.

Guests are assured of lazy days as they soak up the mountain views and enjoy some berry picking in season. The private cellar on the farm produces several liqueurs and deli products and guests are invited to join us in our tasting room for a gastronomic experience year round! Horse riding lessons and excursions are offered by appointment. Youngsters will also enjoy fishing in the dam or trying their hand at balancing in the canoe! For the more energetic, there are several mountain bike routes in the nearby forestry areas or you can simply stroll on the farm among the youngberry fields. The local golf course is 1km away and central town less than 3km.

Berry cottage:
The Berry Cottage offers one bedroom with queen sized bed and en-suite full bathroom a fully equipped kitchen, living area with additional ¾ bed and a verandah with built in braai facility and garden furniture. The first bag of wood provided is complimentary. Additional wood sold on site.
Amenities & Facilities: inside fireplace, air conditioning, microwave, 2 plate oven/stove and fridge/deepfreeze, braai facility

Rose Cottage:
Nestled aside a small dam the Rose Cottage has spectacular views of the Langeberg Mountain range and horse paddocks. The Cottage offers 2 bedrooms (one with double bed and one with twin beds),a bathroom with shower, lounge/kitchen and dining area with indoor fire place. The kitchen is fully equipped with microwave, oven and fridge/deepfreeze. A portable braai and comfortable garden furniture is outside.

River Cottage:
This comfortable family cottage accommodating 4 persons offers one bedroom with double bed, a lounge area with fire place and twin beds, a fully equipped kitchen and a braai under a spectacular starlit sky in summer.
Here guests can sit under the shady avocado tree listening to the trickling stream and watching the horses at play.


Rates:R200 to R250 pp sharing per night.
Special rates for children under 12.

Directions from Swellendam Central (34 01 06.82" S and 20 2516.46" E): From the main road, Voortrekker Street, turn into Andrew White Street opp the OK to go uphill in the direction of the mountain.Pass the Waterworks, squash courts & Golf Course on your left and continue straight(becomes dirt road). At the bottom of the hill, turn left and keep straight until you see the Wildebraam Entrance on your right. Proceed 150m past main house and cottage down to the cellar.

Directions from N2 Cape Town (34 01 06.82" S and 20 2516.46" E):
As you approach Swellendam turn left onto the R60 in the direction of Ashton/Worcester. When you get to the 4 stop continue straight over and continue for approx. 1.5km. Turn right at the Hermitage Board and travel 100m. Take your first left onto a dirt road (Hermitage signs) and continue straight for +-400m. Wildebraam entrance (S4) is on your left. Proceed 150m past main house and cottage down to the cellar.

Directions from N1 WORCESTER/ASHTON/SWELLENDAM: (34 01 06.82" S and 20 2516.46" E):
As you approach Swellendam on the R60 from Ashton you get Keurbomen Lodge & cheese Shop on your left. A short distance past these buildings, turn left off the R60 at the Hermitage sign and travel 100m. Take your first left onto a dirt road (Hermitage signs) and continue straight for +-400m. Wildebraam entrance (S4) is on your left. Proceed 150m past main house and cottage down to the cellar.
