Visit the Wildebraam Berry Estate, situated in the Hermitage Valley about 1.5km outside Swellendam, where you will be warmly welcomed in the beautiful Hermitage Valley and overwhelmed by the gastronomic delights! The berry types they farm with include Blackberries and Youngberries.
The private cellar produces a range of delicious liqueurs including Youngberry, Honey, Aniseed, Rooibos, Peppermint, Lemon and Hazelnut. In addition, the farm kitchen produces a tempting array of liqueured fruits, jams, dessert syrups, chutneys, relishes, pickles and gifts which can all be sampled and purchased in the infamous "tasting room". The products are elegantly packaged and service the corporate gift market through a range of stylish gifts.
From mid November to end December it is berry picking time and you can pick your own berries!
Light refreshments as well as picnic baskets (which must be booked in advance) are available. Visitors are welcomed in the tasting room which has a fabulous vista of pastures, berry fields and the majestic Langeberg Mountains

Directions from Swellendam Central (34 01 06.82" S and 20 2516.46" E): From the main road, Voortrekker Street, turn into Andrew White Street opp the OK to go uphill in the direction of the mountain.Pass the Waterworks, squash courts & Golf Course on your left and continue straight(becomes dirt road). At the bottom of the hill, turn left and keep straight until you see the Wildebraam Entrance on your right. Proceed 150m past main house and cottage down to the cellar.
Directions from N2 Cape Town (34 01 06.82" S and 20 2516.46" E): As you approach Swellendam turn left onto the R60 in the direction of Ashton/Worcester. When you get to the 4 stop continue straight over and continue for approx. 1.5km. Turn right at the Hermitage Board and travel 100m. Take your first left onto a dirt road (Hermitage signs) and continue straight for +-400m. Wildebraam entrance (S4) is on your left. Proceed 150m past main house and cottage down to the cellar.
Directions from N1 WORCESTER/ASHTON/SWELLENDAM: (34 01 06.82" S and 20 2516.46" E): As you approach Swellendam on the R60 from Ashton you get Keurbomen Lodge & cheese Shop on your left. A short distance past these buildings, turn left off the R60 at the Hermitage sign and travel 100m. Take your first left onto a dirt road (Hermitage signs) and continue straight for +-400m. Wildebraam entrance (S4) is on your left. Proceed 150m past main house and cottage down to the cellar. |
