Jakkalsvlei Private Cellar is situated at the foot of the majestic mountains surrounding the picturesque village of Herbertsdale on the Garden Route. It is here in Herbertsdale near Mossel Bay where you will find one of the Garden Route’s best kept secrets!

The fine soil and ideal climate on the southern and northern slopes of the surrounding mountains combine to allow for the cultivation of quality grapes with great fruit concentration.

Wines produced by winemaker and owner Jantjie Jonker at Jakkalsvlei Private Cellar includes:
* Mount Cuvée (Red Blend) – Winner of Bronze medal at SA Young Wine Show
* Hanepoot Sweet Wine - 2009 Champion Hanepoot at SA Young Wine Show and over all champion dessert wine.
* Sauvignon Blanc
* Rosé
* Red Muscadel
* Cabernet Sauvignon (available soon)

The tasting room overlooks the vineyards and mountains! Here you can taste and purchase wines from the Jakkalsvlei collection.

Jakkalsvlei is family friendly and visitors are invited to enjoy the tranquil farm atmosphere. Bring your own picnic basket or order a Cheese Platter with figs & olives from the friendly staff at Jakkalsvlei. Guests can also take a strole through the vineyards or enjoy the hiking trail on the farm.

Every year from about 15 February to 15 March when you can pick your own grapes (Hanepoort) at Jakkalsvlei.

A visit to Jakkalsvlei Private Cellar will take you through an unspoilt part of the Garden Route where few have set foot. The road leading from Mossel Bay to Jakkalsvlei will also take you to Albertinia and to Van Wyksdorp and Ladismith in the Klein Karoo.
